The rookie from USC makes his impression felt on the 49ers
A
beginning of things to come in New Orleans, Reggie Bush scored all four
touchdowns to get the win against the San Francisco 49ers
Finally,
a sigh of relief for New Orleans Saints fans! Their luck of the draw
draft pick from USC is starting to pay off. Reggie Bush rushed for a
career high three touchdowns on ten carries and had awesome day
receiving with 131 yards on nine receptions and a touchdown. The Saints
defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-10 in an all-Bush generated
offense, Reggie scored all four touchdowns for New Orleans.
Bush was a household name way before he even stepped foot on the NFL
gridiron, having played in BCS championships and winning a Heisman
trophy. There is no question whether or not Bush will be a success in
the NFL, but the real question was when. Hopefully for the Saints he
answered that question last Sunday with his Ladanian Tomlinson-like
stats.
Strangely enough, Bush has not been the rushing threat as expected
this season, but a dominant receiver for the Saints instead. With a
team leading seventy-three receptions for 562 receiving yards one would
think you are talking about someone like Marvin Harrison or Terrell
Owens, but it's Reggie Bush, a rookie running back. As some have
expected Bush is struggling with his running game and has an awful 3.1
per carry average, rushing for only 368 yards. So bad are his rushing
stats that fellow rookie and starting quarterback for the Tennessee
Titans Vince Young has more rushing yards than Bush with 372 yards and
struggling running back Edgerrin James from the Arizona Cardinals has a
slighty better per carry average with 3.2.
With an impressive performance like this one though, signs of change
look to be right around the corner for Reggie Bush and the playoff bound New
Orleans Saints. So who knows what this soon to be superstar's stats
will look like for the rest of the season, but with the showcase of
talent that he put on Sunday, ever game will be a must see from here on
out!
