Oakland passed on Quinn ?
That QB for LSU sure looked good. I know he is a red shirt Junior. I
hear he is considering coming out. Either way that may be someone worth
snagging even if we don't think he is the key. I think when you have an
exceptional talent you need to go for it and build around it. That dude
was flat impressive...and HUGE (can stand the punishment better!). And
ya...No way on Quinn.
Quinn has never showed anything when it counts. It would be a huge
mistake if the Raiders take him with the first pick. The Raiders should
trade down two or three spots and hope that Thomas or Petersen will be
there. The key to the Raiders future is the total revamping of the
offensive line, and finding a blue-chip running back to compete in the
run happy AFC west. The only need on Defense is a big run stuffing DT,
otherwise the Raiders need to use all their picks on the offensive side
of the ball. In reality, the Raiders are looking at a playoff window in
2008, when this young defense will be at its peak. Lets just hope this
offensive mess can be cured by then.
Quinn was average at best and Russell looked pretty good. When the
Raiders head to the podium it better be Peterson. Remember this kid
will be touching the ball 20 to 30 times a game, maybe more. It's a
deep draft for signal callers so we could get someone in the later
rounds. I really don't think were going to trade down unless we hit the
mother load of all trades. This team needs to start re-building now and
not wait for all these other teams to slide in and take the free agents
we need. So Al start opening your wallet. Please also make a decision
on Shell, either fire him or move him out of the head coach spot and
bring in someone who can run our offense.
